Trinidad is short on road signs and as this is a newly opened hotel we had a bit of trouble finding our way to the right place. The staff were extremely welcoming. Our room was not ready (we were a few hours early) so we left our bags and had a delicious lunch in town. When we returned we found that we had been upgraded to a beautiful room with a terrace overlooking the main square. The room was fantastic in all respects. In spite of the weather we still had a fantastic time. We tramped the streets in the mud and ate twice at Sol y Son, which is an amazing experience. The food is delicious (especially the specials). We also ate at Trinidad Colonial but found it to be a bit of a disappointment. The hotel serves a buffet dinner and we think you can do better than that in Trinidad, good buffet or not!. Fantastic place.
