The Hotel Los Frailes used to be the mansion of the Marquis and Captain of the French Navy, Don Pedro Claudio Duquesne. Once visited by the most select nobility of the time, ecclesiastical dignitaries, military authorities and renowned artists, the house has become today the perfect place to enjoy the silence and the meditation throughout the pleasant afternoons of the old town.
The house has rooms with exclusive ambiance: a lobby-bar that is decorated with pieces of art, stained-glass windows, statues of monks made out of copper and altarpieces, and a quiet inner courtyard with a beautiful fountain and an old well. This special hotel, thanks to its mystery and intimacy, is the ideal place for contemplation and meditation and takes us in an imaginary trip to a medieval abbey.

Los Frailes is a really good hotel where to stay at l'Havana. It's located in between Plaza Vieja and Plaza San Francisco de Asis, so you can reach all the main places of Old Havana and Avana Centre simply walking. The service is good and the rooms are perfectly clean. Most of the rooms have not windows but, as you will discover, this is not a problem at all! Fresh comfortable and original place where to come back after a long walk around the city. We spent 4 nights there at the beginning of the vacation (reserved from Italy - Internet web site) and, due to the good quality, we came back one more night before to come back home (Italy), reserving the room directly in Cuba with a phone call.
