Mascotte is a small hotel housed in an old, colonial style building, with beautiful architecture and balconies overlooking Remedios’ main square.
San Juan de los Remedios is one of the oldest towns of Cuba. It is distinguished for its Christmas festival, Las Parrandas de Remedios, one of the most popular events of the region.
Hotel Mascotte is an ideal place from where to explore the city and the center of Cuba, ideally combined with the beaches of Cayo Santa María, Cayo Ensenachos and Cayo Las Brujas, off the north coast of Villa Clara province.
This is a very nice, clean, European style hotel, with high ceilings and with long window-doors onto balconies right on the main square. Try to get a room overlooking the square. It also has a very recommendable restaurant on ground level, with french-doors opening onto the square.
Just across the street from the hotel is an interesting shop of arts and crafts. Even though we were staying at one of the nearby resorts, we chose to spend a night here to get a feeling of the local flavour. It was a good choice.
