The San Miguel Hotel is located very near to Havana's harbor. This elegant building is distinguished by the arrangement and the good taste of its rooms, which show the life style of the Havana bourgeoisie in the 1920's. The house was acquired and modified towards 1923 by Antonio San Miguel y Segalá, outstanding man of letters, altruist and promoter of culture.
Its comfortable rooms, the Grand Saloon to hold protocolar gatherings, its attractive lobby bar and a captivating terrace with an excellent view of the forts: El Morro, La Cabaña and La Punta, make this place an indispensable stop for travelers.
The San Miguel Hotel is situated in the heart of the historic Havana and looks out over magnificent Port Avenue.
We spent four nights in the fabulous Hotel Raquel in old Havana and it turned out to be an inspired choice. The hotel is ideally placed in the heart of Habana Vieja, has been renovated to a very high standard and is beautifully decorated with local art and marble sculptures. There are marble floors, an old cage style lift and a breathtaking stained glass roof. The rooms, although a little on the small side, are very comfortable and were cleaned every day and there is a 24 hour bar and a gift shop. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. For a clean, comfortable, conveniently situated hotel from which to explore Havana you really can't get much better than the Hotel Raquel.
