A luxury location is the setting of the Hotel Plaza, a symbol of Havana with the sober elegance of a classic.
Inaugurated on January 3rd, 1909, the Hotel Plaza is considered a gem of the Cuban hotel industry and especially of Havana. Constructed in a triangular shape, its magnificent neoclassical façade stands out in its city surroundings. Good taste rules at the Plaza which features a beautiful colonial patio, a picturesque fountain from the same period, abundant vegetation, exotic birds, sculptures and colorful stained-glass windows which filter the tropical light and create a very special atmosphere. The Plaza retains all the glamour of the turn of the century in its comfortable rooms and lounges.
Especially recommended for the quality of their services and personalized attention are the Real Plaza and Los Portales restaurants, the attractive lobby bar-café, and the splendid Fausto terrace bar on the top floor, featuring unique views of the city.
Plaza Hotel overlooks Parque Central, in the heart of Old Havana.
Originally booked at Hotel Telegrafo, Cuba-tour put us into The Plaza when we arrived Havana. We stayed at the Telegrafo on the return, and the difference between theese the two hotels are like different planets. Plaza had small, ill-smelling rooms. Low pressure in the shower and only slightly warm water. Breakfast was ok with good omelette and nice view from the roof terasse. The coffe machine sometimes supplied coffe, and sometimes brown water. Telegrafo and NHParque Central is just across the street, so change to one of them.
