Sancti Spiritus province is the historical heart of the center of Cuba. Most of the region is dedicated to the sugar cane cultivation and the livestock. To the southeast, the Agabama River forks in two ways the mountain range of Escambray. Sancti Spiritus offers the visitor two important colonial cities: the capitol, also called Sancti Spiritus and Trinidad, old sugar industry center.

Trinidad is the jewel in the provincial crown, a Unesco protected national monument, recognised as one of the most charming cities in the whole of the Caribbean and Latin America. Among the features of this zone of Trinidad are the beaches, in particular Ancon with possibilities for diving, the Ingenios Valley, where the ruins of sugar industries haciendas from the XIX century are located, and the Topes de Collantes spa, in the middle of the mountain range of Escambray.
