Old Havana is a must visit district. It nostalgically remains to Cadiz and Tenerife. It is the city that Alejo Carpentier called “the one of the columns”. Old Havana is the richest colonial compound in Latinoamerica. The Cuban state does huge efforts in order to preserve and restore the Old Havana, through the office of the City’s Historian, run by Eusebio Leal.

Central Havana is the best place to enjoy the essence of the city. Don’t miss the red-light district. Vedado could be considered, or at least the part located around the Hotel Habana Libre, the nowadays Havana’s center, business and commerce district. Miramar is the district par excellence for embassies and the most beautiful houses, built under the influence of the 30s and 50s style. To the east of Havana there are some beaches very frequented by people from Havana. The Beaches in order of proximity to Havana are: Bucaranao, Megano, Santa Maria del Mar, Boca Ciega, Guanabo, Jibacoa and Tropico.
